Many of the NYC and European agencies have gone to digital portfolios because it saves a lot of money versus printed photos. Most local agencies still use the traditional portfolios.  However, once a model gets to NYC or any other major modeling market it is a must to have an ipad not only for their photos but for all the other useful apps including directions to castings.
