What is an “Elevator Pitch”?

Categories

It is a brief description you would use to describe yourself in the time you could ride on an elevator with someone. It’s a 30 second verbal commercial about YOU that includes:

  • What Is Your Name?
  • What Do You Do?
  • What Is Your Passion?
  • What Do You Want To Do? Goals?

An Elevator Pitch is designed to ‘sell’ YOU at Career Fairs, College Admission Interviews, Job Interviews, Club, Events, Social Engagement or Gatherings. In fact, an Elevator Pitch is designed to ‘sell’ you to just about anyone you meet!

Practice your Elevator Pitch out loud, be conversational and sound natural. Rehearse your pitch with family and friends so you can perfect it. Remember that you don’t want to sound like a monotone robot! Be passionate and excited when giving your Elevator Pitch and remember to smile!
