Over time, makeup can develop bacteria, yeast and fungi which are the last thing you want to be putting on your face! A few tips to keep your makeup bacteria free:
- NEVER share your makeup with anyone
- ALWAYS use makeup brushes instead of your fingers
- STORE your makeup in a cool, dry place.
- THROW AWAY any makeup that smells bad or looks different than it did when you purchased it or if the consistency changes
- REPLACE your makeup as follows:
- Foundation – 6 months – 1 year
- Lipstick – 2-3 years
- Mascara – every 3 to 6 months
- Eye & Lip Pencils – every 2-3 years
- Powder & Blush – every 2-3 years
- Powder Eye Shadows – every 2 to 3 years
